The Author

Mich Guevara is a full-time Sr. Software Engineer/Team Leader for the IT group of an International Insurance Company. Due to the stressful nature of her job, she decided to slow down a bit and enjoys the many pleasures that life has to offer. Besides, life is beautiful, yet too short.

Mich has always been passionate about writing her journeys. She published her first homepage on the internet way back in 1998 until around 2007. She was the protagonist behind Platitudes are Poison --- a very personal online journal about her life and career in Singapore. Later on, after marrying her friend and now husband, Paul Emerson Guevara in 2007, she decided to shut down the site. Paul, who is a Web Designer by profession, has been helping her with some graphics layout for this travel site.

Aside from writing, Mich started to appreciate traveling and photography. She learned photography only through books and her peers and has not attended any formal class. Thus, she considers photography as a mere hobby and not a profession. The camera she uses is a Nikon D80 DSLR.

Mich is a big fan of budget travel. It's her way to escape from the rat race, even for a short period of time. Pinoy Lakwatsa! then came as an experimental blog that chronicles her existence, this time, through her travel, vacation, and leisure trips to the finest places in the Philippines and Asia.
