Camp John Hay Manor Hotel

Baguio accommodation was never a concern for me. My husband’s sisters were all residing there and so, we're always welcome to stay in any of their houses each time we’re on vacation.

There were also times when we’re compelled to look for a hotel or transient on certain occasions like when my own family visited the place for our wedding.

When we held our wedding party in Camp John Hay Golf Club, my husband and I decided to book a suite in Manor Hotel since both are inside Camp John Hay.

I heard and read so many poor reviews about the Manor – being exceptionally pricey yet having a not-so-good customer service. Still, Manor Hotel is considered one of the most impressive hotels in Baguio with its picturesque location and cozy interiors. I want nothing but the best accommodation for our wedding. So, we still go for the Manor Hotel. Period.

We stayed in this hotel on a December. The place is especially dazzling because of Christmas lighting and decors. The lobby set-up is very beautiful and festive! In front of the main door, a giant Christmas tree is positioned to give visitors a nice background for picture taking.

Manor Delicatessen at the lobby is open daily to serve light snack and freshly baked pastries.

We stayed at the Manor for two nights. Their one-bedroom suite is very spacious. Big bed; 1 television set each for the bedroom and receiving area; 2 bath/comfort rooms; a kitchenette with ref and microwave; and a veranda.

I particularly enjoyed staying at veranda because of the breeze and breathtaking view of the pine trees. I was just turned-off by an old red electric fan inside our suite, it looked like it's in the wrong place. I also hoped the management has also invested on good interiors for the rooms. The sofa looked kind of old and unclean already.

Spend a classy evening of smooth piano music and a little drink by the fireplace at the hotel's Piano Bar.

Although they promised a 5-star service, it still did not meet some of my expectations. Maybe not too worse as compared to a yelling lady who claimed herself to be a director of a hospital in Manila. She was really aggravated that we couldn’t help but overheard her frustrations in the front desk. Whatever is that, I opted not to mention it here. Besides, I did not had a bad experience during my stay, so to be fair, I’d rather not talk about an event I did not even experience myself.

The Manor Hotel is a very luxurious hotel. Most of the guests are foreigners and known personalities. And I hope the management and staff do not limit their attention to this group of people only. Customer service is all that matters in this kind of business, right? Customers are first, the rest are just secondary.
