Last night, my husband and I went to D-Cinema in The Block, SM North Edsa, to attend the special 3-D movie premiere of Journey to the Center of the Earth. This was the price I acquired from being selected as one of Our Awesome Planet’s top three favorite blog posts on Awesome Journey to the Islands of the Philippines. Out of the many entries I submitted, Puerto Princesa Palawan trip was the one which got Anton’s attention.
True to its blog’s identity, Anton and Rache Diaz are sincerely nice and AWESOME couple. I tried to compose myself prior to meeting them because I do not want to look so uptight. My husband Paul is really a man of few words so it’s like me who was really having a conversation with them the entire night. Anton is very smart and I really respected the man. I particularly love Rache, she was so down to earth and we had our share of girly chitchat that night. I also get to meet Shelly and husband of missyosigirl.blogspot.com, who was also chosen for her Baler trip. I was just wondering where was Spanx cause we also love to meet Manila Boy. It was really amazing to be acquainted with the people behind these known blog sites. If you would ask me, the movie was just a bonus but it’s the experience of meeting new friends that was memorable!
Winning in one of Anton’s contest has opened so many realizations for Pinoy Lakwatsa. My personal online travel journal which was firstly intended to just chronicle my married life with Paul, so we could share our life with family and friends, is now being visited by some audience from all walks of life. Like I always said, life is beautiful but too short. I almost died once in my life because of pregnancy complications. We lost our 2-day old baby Courtney Margareth, and until now, I’m still praying for a successful and healthy pregnancy. That was the time when I realized that each day should be remembered as God’s blessing. I wanted to see how beautiful our world is and I thought I could first do that through traveling.
I guess people now recognized this site and I need now to be “extra” responsible in terms of blogging. I also found a new form of therapy through capturing good pictures. Photography is so much fun! I’m still very much into my other hobby which is flower arrangements. Above all these, I am still working full-time as an IT software engineer in an international insurance company and I am still a wife. So I guess I won’t be writing as often as compared to our other professional bloggers. Sometimes I wish I have more than 24 hours so I could do things I really love to do.
Meanwhile, I will be gone for the weekend. Husband needs to visit his family in Baguio City. I will take this chance to re-visit our favorite hang-outs in Baguio so I could also share them with you.
