Bohol Tour Part 2 – Loboc River Cruise and the Ati Tribe

Another popular attraction of Bohol is the Loboc River. Our tour group was particularly excited about this specific destination because of the food offered by the floating restaurants there. Why not? Climbing up and down the stairs of the Chocolate Hills view deck made us all fatigue and hungry! Good thing, our itinerary included a buffet lunch by the Loboc River. And obviously, we were all looking forward to feast on our first taste of Bohol catering.

Loboc River Cruise in Bohol

There are two choices of river cruise. Either going upstream where boatmen will take you to a cascading mini waterfall or you cruise at Loay. In our case, we board the floating restaurant near the Loay bridge where it was stationed. From here we cruised along the still river of Loboc. Here, you will be eating in a nipa-hut inspired restaurant that is floating with a help of a motorized boat. Food was fine and plenty. Maybe, I particularly enjoyed the food because of the scenic sight of the green landscapes and tall palm trees during the cruise. Also, every floating restaurant has either a soloist or a band entertaining the tourists. Overall, the cruise was pleasurable and the food was satisfying.

Loboc is one of the municipalities of Bohol. It is around 24kms away from Bohol’s provincial capital, Tagbilaran City. Aside from the floating restaurants and tarsiers, Loboc is also known for its Busay Falls, old churches and the award-winning Loboc Children’s Choir. The famous children choral has won numerous competitions, both local and international. In Loboc, you will discover a lot of talented people when it comes to singing. It was probably one of the reasons why Loboc has been named by many as the Music Town of Bohol.

After having our lunch, the boat stopped where tribal community played music to welcome us. These people are called the Ati Tribe of Bohol. They mingled with tourists for picture taking and even taught us how to play archery.

The Ati Tribe were friendly and very playful! Just be kind enough to drop some money in the donation box to help them and their community.
