My next entries were not really part of a typical island tour of Bohol. I just thought of sharing them with you since our group tour had a chance to see them while we're in this province.
When we asked our tour driver what else can be seen in Bohol, he mentioned paying a visit at Bayoyoy's house to meet the smallest man living in the Philippines. Bayoyoy is a 61 year old dwarf-man residing in Dauis, Bohol. Sadly, because of his condition, he did not experience living a normal life. He is blind and could only hear. When we visited him in their house, we were warmly welcomed by his sister who also looked after him. According to her, other 5 of their siblings were also diagnosed with dwarfism, they were all deceased.
The old little man was featured many times in our local television shows. If you'll be lucky to meet him, I hope you also share some blessings with him by donating some money or goods. By the way, Bayoyoy can only take milk or oatmeal, according to his sister.
Another extra-ordinary living creature we met in Bohol is Prony – the biggest and longest python in captivity. This was really weird because I really have this fear thing about snakes. At first, I was just trying to encourage Paul to have a picture with the big python since I also took his picture carrying a crocodile in Palawan before. Surprisingly, I was also convinced to get inside the cave and touched Prony. This is my very very first time to touch a python!
Thank God, Marimar was there. He is Prony's gay caretaker who does an impression of the Mexican soap character Marimar. He made us understand that Prony is harmless and there's nothing to worry about because the python is well-loved and well-nourished. Prony for everyone's information eats only either a pig or a goat once a month.
Aside from introducing Prony to us, Marimar also did a series of lip sync and dance show for Prony's visitors. It was really entertaining and hilarious!
