Two of my dear office friends gave me a post-birthday treat last Tuesday at the aVeneto Pizzeria Ristorante so I thought why not feature this Italian-inspired restaurant as part of my usual food trip chronicle.
First time you heard about the place, you will really think of a classic Italian restaurant. But when you get inside this branch in Glorietta, it just looked like a typical pizza place, nothing more than that.
I have been to this restaurant before but since I was following a strict diet from my doctor then, I wasn’t able to order anything other than their Tuna Salad. Honestly, I thought I could do better tuna salad than that. Really, there was nothing special about its taste. Now that I’m back to my usual eating routine, I was quite excited when my friends chose this place because at least I could try out their food except that forgettable salad.
One thing worth mentioning about this restaurant is the price. It’s fairly affordable with its huge serving - one order of pasta can be shared by two to three persons already. It's really practical if you're eating as a group. We actually made a mistake by ordering two different servings of pasta because we ended up not finishing the other. I personally don’t like that pasta in marinara sauce with 3 Hungarian sausages. I thought that the sauce did not complement the sausage. On the other hand, their Carbonara with chicken was quite good, I like it. I also enjoyed their buffalo wings and all-meat pizza.

But to be honest, it doesn’t really matter whether I like the food and place or not. This time, I just enjoyed the company of my friends. I really appreciate their effort to treat me out and remember my day despite our busy and hectic times at the office. The birthday lunch was really heavy! Thank you Vhi and Tina!
