Albay Tour Part 2 - Cagsawa Ruins Park

Cagsawa Ruins Park, Albay

In February 1814, Mayon Volcano has recorded its worst eruption ever in the history. It was said that about 1,200 town people thought that the Cagsawa Church could be a safer place but all of them ended up buried when lava flows cascaded down directly to the church. The bell tower of Cagsawa Church remained during this devastating experience.

Today, known as the Cagsawa Ruins Park, the place is one of the best tourist locations in Albay where you could get a nicer glimpse of the Mayon Volcano. Well, not really. On our first day, and our first attempt to visit Cagsawa Ruins Park, we were dismayed by not even seeing a blur image of the famous volcano. I guess we can blame it to the bad weather condition!

Good thing, we met Enrique, a talented young photographer who taught us how to take pictures with some fun tricks. Let me share some of our pictures. Most of these were taken by our new friend. Notice at the background, the volcano is missing :)
