Albay Tour Part 4 – Busay Falls and Black Sand Beaches

Busay Falls, Malilipot, Albay

One thing I learned about this tour is the fact that Albay is merely not all about Mayon Volcano. There are a lot of beautiful scenery in this province. Maybe not as gigantic as the Mayon, but I could fairly say, they are equally beautiful as the famous volcano.

When my husband met my friend Joanne, her father and sister Mafie at the Legazpi airport, Paul immediately asked Tatay (Joanne’s father) if they could include any waterfalls in our itinerary. Fortunately, our tour guides had that already in mind.

Busay Falls, Malilipot, Albay
Like my husband, I love looking at a waterfalls. The sight and sound of splashing and cascading water is just so serene, so relaxing. It’s a nice place to have a cool refreshing shower with friends or simply a place where I could reflect about many things in life.

Malilipot, Albay
As expected, while enjoying the scenic rice fields and farm animals of Malilipot during a 20 minute drive, we proceed to this site, where a small waterfalls is tucked away in one of the barrios.

Busay Falls, towering at 800 feet, is considered one of the tallest falls in the country. It is located at about 20km north of Legazpi City, the capital of Albay. Before you get see the falls, you’ll have to pay an entrance fee of P10.

Another thing me and my husband were excited about was seeing a black sand beach. It’s very rare because the black sand were actually created from the natural erosion of volcanic rock of which evolved from ground lava.

Black Sand Beaches are located mostly in Bacacay, Sto. Domingo, and Tiwi.
